Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Footwork Friday

By: Katie

There are few things as calming as the feeling of warm sand beneath your toes. These comfortable, yet still fashionable “shoes” were created for brides getting married on the beach. These sandals have no bottoms, just a design created by beads, pearls, flowers, or even sea shells and string that wrap around your ankles to your second toe. They might even just be considered jewelry. They make it easier to walk through the sand and go perfectly with a beach theme of any wedding. Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Kimye Wedding Photos

By: Katie

We came across some photo booth pictures of the newlyweds and guests enjoying themselves at the Kimye wedding this past weekend. Other stars and close friends such as Tracey Mills, Larsa Pippen, Tony Williams, Jonathan Cheban, and even Kanye West’s barber, IBN Jasper, are seen in these snapshots with the bride and groom. Since Kim and Kanye asked their guests to leave their cell phones at home, these fun photos were the only ones we can see from the inside of the reception. Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Celeb Gowns

By: Katie

We’ve all seen the pictures of the Kimye wedding posted from the Kardashians and even Kanye himself, but let’s take a moment to point out Kim’s gorgeous dress! The long-sleeved lace look is a popular choice for celebs’ wedding gowns because it has a vintage look to it. The lace top has also been seen as an open back or cut very low, giving the dress a little sexiness as well. Celebrities such as Kelly Clarkson, Nicole Richie, Grace Kelly, and Matthew McConaughey’s wife, Camila Alves, have worn lacey long-sleeved dresses similar to Kim’s. And of course, how can we forget royalty Kate Middleton’s fabulous dress back in 2011? Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Cakelets Craze

By: Katie

Looking for an alternative to the same old cake and cupcakes at your wedding? Here it is! Cakelets, which are simply tiny cakes, are a cute way to make the dessert at your wedding or event unique. They can even be customized to look exactly like a miniature wedding cake. Cakelets not only make it easier for serving, but they also can be ordered in a variety of flavors as compared to the one flavor of a sheet or wedding cake you have to choose, which will give your guests more options. Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Emma Watson's Graduation

By: Katie

Twenty-four year old actress Emma Watson, who some of you may know as Hermione from the Harry Potter series, received her diploma yesterday from Brown University. The famous movie star took five years to get her degree, taking a break in 2011, but finishing strong to prove to others that she could do it. She was even taking classes the year she was named the highest-grossing actress of the decade by the Guinness Book of World Records, and still managed to finish with a bachelor degree in English Literature at the Ivy League school. Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Ralph Lauren Fashion Show

By: Katie

Earlier this week, Ralph Lauren hosted a fashion show for his children’s fall collection at New York Public Library. Of the many adorable children walking the runway in his designs, one was Alicia Keys’ three-year-old son, Egypt Dean.  Of course Alicia was there to watch along with the other celebrities whose children were also modeling the line. Not only was Ralph Lauren’s event full of cute, fashionable kids, but it also marked the beginning of his brand’s new fundraising for literacy. Percentages of sales from the new Polo Pony t-shirt along with the fall line will be dedicated to an organization that provides reading support and books to those children without, called Reach Out & Read. Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planners | Eco-Friendly Engagement

By: Katie

Monique Péan caught our attention when we learned that she decided to create her own line of eco-friendly rings after hearing of the wasted materials that result from making gold engagement rings. Using leftover materials and diamonds taken from antique rings, she designed her own line called Minéraux. She is even donating 5% of proceeds to the National Center for Transgender Equality and the NYC LGBT Community Center until June 30, 2014 to celebrate Massachusetts legalizing gay marriage.  Monique Péan said, "I’m really able to make beautiful things that hopefully will last for generations to come, but I am also able to give back, and I am thankful to be able to do that." Be inspired.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planner | Feather Frenzy

By: Katie

Feathers have become an even bigger trend in weddings during 2013-2014 since the newest version of The Great Gatsby has been released. Whether brides are using them in their hair, their dresses, their cakes, or their decor, these fabulous feathers give a vintage feel to their special day. Even for those who are not particularly going for the Gatsby theme, white feathers can be used simply to spice up a table as a centerpiece or make a dress more interesting. They can be both fun and classy - what more could you ask for? Be inspired.
